Highmark Caring place has championed the cause of grieving children for many years throughout the state of Pennsylvania. In our effort to help the larger community understand the needs of grieving children Highmark Caring Places created a campaign 8 years ago called Children’s Grief Awareness Day (CGAD).
The symbol of CGAD is called “Hope” our blue butterfly. We are attempting to partner with community organization to “Illuminate” the needs of grieving children throughout the Central Pennsylvania region.
The art display will consist of approximately 3,000 to 5,000 small blue butterflies on a canvas mural. The small butterflies would be created by our Caring Place families who attend groups, volunteers, school students, and community partners who display the mural in their public spaces.
