Frances Sorin Goldberg

Frances had an extraordinary capacity for giving. Born in Shenandoah, PA, Frances learned from her immigrant parents the importance of tzedakah and chesed. When Frances saw a need, she stepped forward, addressed it, and moved others to join her – through their own actions or through their own donations. She was involved in The Silver Academy, Kesher Israel Synagogue, Hadassah, Kosher Meals on Wheels, UJA, Federation, the Heart Association, the Osteopathic Hospital, and many more. Frances made Jewish interests the broader community’s interests through her activism and her television and radio commentaries. She asked the questions that no one else would ask. An inspiration, a forward thinker, and a role model, Frances was a life-long problem solver. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, bubbee, and great-bubbee. Frances was the matriarch of our family…always gracious and caring.

A gift from her loving children: Robin Goldberg, PhD, Karen Goldberg, Ellen Goldberg, Andrew Goldberg, MD
