Pianist Ian Scarfe welcomes special guest cellist James Jaffe for a program featuring some of the great masterpieces for cello and piano, starting with Beethoven's first cello sonata! This Sonata was written in Berlin, for the King of Prussia, who was a cellist, and represents the first of the classical sonatas which starred the cello. They will also perform romantic and contemporary works, and discuss the evolution of music for this beloved instrument.
